Purpose
To stimulate and recognize the writing talents of eighth-grade students and to emphasize the importance of writing skills among eighth-grade students.
Key dates each cycle
- Summer: prompt becomes available.
- Fall: award opens for submissions.
- February 15: contest closes.
- Mid-May: results emailed to nominating educators.
