Using Poetry—and Thimblethoughts and Wonderfuzz—to Inspire Research and Writing
In honor of Â¥·ïÌìÌà Poetry Month, the Â¥·ïÌìÌàChildren’s Poetry Awards Committee is sponsoring a special event to support teachers in using poetry to meet a wide variety of education goals. Join award-winning poets Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong on Thursday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. ET as they lead several authors in a webinar providing educators at all levels with ideas for engaging teachers and students in poetry.

Community Conversations for Elementary Teachers Series
Led by members of Â¥·ïÌìÌÃ’s , the virtual events will provide a special space for teachers to learn and think together. Facilitated by Melissa Guerrette and the Classroom Corridors Cohort, the series will kick off on Tuesday, April 29, at 7:00 p.m. ET!

From Egypt to Palestine: Celebrating Arab Heritage in Teaching
On Wednesday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET, Â¥·ïÌìÌà members are invited to join English Language Arts Teacher Educators (ELATE) and Hannah Moushabeck and Dr. Sawsan Jaber in celebration of Â¥·ïÌìÌà Arab American Heritage Month. This enriching event will uplift Arab literature and culture, with a particular focus on Palestine.

Book Study: Literacy Education and Diverse Families
On Thursday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. ET, Â¥·ïÌìÌà members are invited to join Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) and Drs. Sally Brown and Rong Zhang for a discussion about their recent book,  Members will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with Drs. Brown and Zhang to gain a deeper understanding of diverse families in the twenty-first century.
