Award Details
**NOTE: Currently, there is no funding for this award;Ìýhowever, affiliates may wish to continue this recognition at the local level and support awardees with travel funds to the Â¥·ïÌìÌà Annual Convention where winners will be recognized and presented with a certificate at the Affiliate Breakfast. The award is designed to encourage the participation of early career teacher leaders in both Â¥·ïÌìÌà (beginning at the Annual Convention) and the affiliate (through all its activities). Should your awardee be unable to attend Convention, please contact Â¥·ïÌìÌà so we can plan to recognize the winner at the Breakfast and send the certificate by mail.

EligibilityÌý
Any early career teacher (1–5 years experience) who has never attended an and who has demonstrated a capacity for professional leadership as well as a willingness to join and participate in the affiliate during the upcoming academic year.Ìý
Frequency/Number of AwardsÌý
Awards will be available to one awardee from each state, regional (e.g., District of Columbia, New England Association), and provincial affiliate of Â¥·ïÌìÌÃ.Ìý
Award SpecificsÌý
Currently, there is no funding for this award; however, affiliates may wish to continue this recognition at the local level and support awardees with travel funds to the , where winners will be recognized and presented with a certificate at the Affiliate Breakfast. Procedures
Each state/regional/provincial affiliate will determine its own process for selecting its awardee; however, Â¥·ïÌìÌà asks that affiliates make an effort toÌý
- invite their membership to submit awardees andÌý
- include awardees from underrepresented populations.Ìý
Â¥·ïÌìÌà will accept without further review all affiliate awardees that have met the above criteria and the deadline; however, Â¥·ïÌìÌà reserves the right to request further information if needed to clarify the affiliate’s material on its awardee.Ìý
Administration
The Â¥·ïÌìÌà Affiliate Office will handle the initial publicity and notification to affiliates of the program, collect awardees from the state/regional/provincial affiliates, and administer the giving of the award. State, regional, and provincial affiliates will develop their own process for choosing awardees using the criteria listed above.Ìý
Deadline
The final awardees and the Â¥·ïÌìÌà Affiliate Leadership Development Award submission form must be submitted to Â¥·ïÌìÌà no later than June 30 of the year of the award.Ìý
