In May 2026, Â¥·ïÌìÌà published its working framework for English language arts educators in grades 6–12 seeking to understand the appropriate role of AI in the discipline. ELA educators are invited to download the framework below and then share their responses using the feedback form.
The ELA AI Framework was guided by three dozen ELA educators and researchers following an invitation-only convening hosted by Â¥·ïÌìÌà in Los Angeles in February 2026, and then further developed by a subset of experienced educators interacting with students in grades 6-12 on a daily basis. The working document is being applied by 12 cohorts comprising 60 classroom teachers who were selected through a competitive application process to join cohorts creating specific, thematic educator resources for both pedagogy and teacher leadership at the middle and high school levels.
Informed by their experiences and the feedback submitted through this webpage, the cohorts will refine the working framework throughout 2026, with the end result being a scalable framework for responsible, purposeful, and ethical AI use within the discipline. This project is being led by Â¥·ïÌìÌà with support from Google.org.
