FGCU African American Read in
The Â¥·ïÌìÌà African American Read-In is one of the nation’s first and oldest experiences centered around diversity within literature. This initiative was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the Â¥·ïÌìÌà Council of Teachers of English (Â¥·ïÌìÌÃ) to increase the awareness of African American authors, encourage communities to read, while diversifying literature. FGCU students, faculty, staff, and community members will come together to develop an understanding and appreciation of the Black culture through poems, short stories, memoirs, novels, and other pieces written by Black authors.
