An Opportunity to Expand Perspectives

Last year Jennifer Watson, an AP Literature and Composition teacher at Octorara High School in Atglen, PA hosted her first African American Read-In (AARI). You can read about her experience and how it grew from a school to a community event in . Watson explains:

“My goals were that we enjoy voices that many of us enjoy in our own corners of the world, in the company of others, and to allow students to witness the power of African American literature and the conversations that they can partake in as they mature and expand their perspectives.”
